What previous clinic participants have said about a "Yes I Can Do It Clinic":
|
I found the clinic very helpful. Cheski looks at the horse as well as the rider so it's comfortable for both and tells you what to improve. The most important thing I took out of the session was that if I don't like what my horse is doing; I need to stop and think what I've done that made him behave the way he did.

I would describe the clinic as FUN! We were given relevant + easily understood information on how to ride your horse in real life - we're not all superstars. What I'd say to other people considering a Yes I Can Do It Clinic is "Go for it, you won't be disappointed."

I found the clinic great. It helped my confidence and the problem I was having. I need to listen to him, that I have to change, not him, I need to stop pulling in canter, give in and let him have his head and he won't run away. The clinic is a great confidence builder.

The session was all about riding in a group and I really needed to find out how he would go in company. Cheski gave us some really good tools to use in a variety of situations. If you're considering doing a Yes I Can Do It Clinic then I say it's "An absolute must do! This was my 3rd one, each on a different horse and I've learnt so much.

The clinic was very helpful. Cheski was very supportive and she taught everyone a huge amount. The most important thing I go out of my session was being taught how to lunge and to also ignore my horse's "variations" and just keep going. I would defintely recommend other people do a "Yes I Can Do It Clinic".

It was an awesome session, fun but not unreachable goals explained in simple terms. The most important thing I took away was how to apply the brakes!!! It was well worth it I came out with more confidence in myself

Cheski approaches riding in such a no-nonsense, sensical way. Both horse and rider feel comfortable and capable and as a result people do more than they think they can! It's so relaxed and friendly. Never at any time do you feel under pressure. In today's clinic we confronted our issues and came away with the key to overcoming our problem of spooky obstacles - it's all in the warm up!

For a new combination the clinic is great to get going and trusting each other. Deals with your/your horse's issues in a way that develop skills for both you and your horse. I achieved more with my horse today than I anticipated.

The clinic was very helpful, especially the group riding. The riding on the grass & grass arena was particularly helpful and coming to grips with a spooky horse in a strange environment

I had a very valuable session. We focused on in hand, ridden and jumping work - just what I needed before going to my next show. It was great to identify the issues and be given the skills to work on correcting them.

Cheski is the best coach I've come across. Great at confidence building. I learnt that everyone has the same fears and problems and that riding can be enjoyable after all.

I was reminded how much I can affect my horse's behaviour by my feelings and how I must not treat her as a pet. That she must respect my space and I respect hers. The session was excellent. It provided a great environment to gain confidence without the pressure of an event happening

Hi Cheski
I just wanted to thank you for the excellent Clinic yesterday. It was such fun and I absolutely loved it! You are such a great coach and fantastic at confidence building. I was so pleased with my horse as that was the first time I have ever had her out in a group situation like that. I am not sure exactly what stage in my life I took a left turn to being such a pathetically nervous rider and I can't tell you how much confidence yesterday gave me. I was on a high all day long - you'd have thought I'd won an Olympic Gold medal or something :-)
Best of all I came away thinking "Yes we can do it". I look forward to attending more clinics and fun competition days eventually - can't believe I said that!
Abderry is such a beautiful facility and a credit to you.

Cheski,
Thank you for all your enthusiasm, encouragement and instructing to get El and I around the arena and over those jumps. Certainly broadened my expectations with a new horse and was fun as well. We can go over jumps that were at first just big scary objects for El.
I now look forward to working on new skills and new challenges that we "can do" and I will remember to look ahead.

Hi Cheski,
Yesterday was GREAT.
I gained so much confidence and had a fantastic time.I enjoy the group sessions so much as I learn such a lot from the other riders. I thought we were all pretty amazing !!!!
You can't imagine the buzz I got from "jumping" the trot poles and then the puissance fence......not to mention the canter. WHOO WHOO
I am so excited about the future and the great times ahead.
THANK YOU, you inspire me

Hi Cheski,
Thank you.
Your lessons have taught me so much, two of the most important that are springing to mind are "Chipping away", and "Fudging".
"Sure 'Young Horse', You can shy at that "SCARY" ant over there in the bushes. You can stand up and twirl on your head for all I care, and I don't care if you're round or have your ears up my nose for this first time past. But WE WILL be going past......... And next time past......... maybe you could lower your headcarriage enough to possibly take your ears OUT of my nose and put them somewhere resembling a frame, .........and I don't care if we're here till 3 am. We're doing it"
......and it's worked.
Young horse tried his crap today, especially towards the end when it got harder, but everything you've taught me sprung up without me having to think of it and it all worked. Thank you.

Thank you for the time you spent in the session to meet my needs, I am not sure if you are aware but that is some of the best work I have done with PK in a long time, and last time we reached that level it took 3 weeks of intensive work and the canter work was the best I have seen him do

As always, I came away from the session with you, feeling really positive and excited about the progress Rambo and I are making. As I said yesterday, I need mileage on my own or in small groups before I tackle the large groups and full on competition, so very much want to meet with you regularly, in order to keep progressing forward.

Had a wonderful time yesterday on Muppet, was really pleased with how he settled down around the other horses. Great confidence boost to find out that my much loved boy is good in company and jumping with other horses. Getting a comfortable canter into the jump was neat, now I cant wait to try it out at home.
The instruction was spot on, Mupps was doing things in one session we haven’t been able to sort ourselves in 6 months. I was only hoping to learn to canter into fences but now have a whole new range of tools to use on the flat as well as jumping.
Again thanks for your instruction and insight”

Hi Cheski
Thank you for that positive reinforcement just what I needed. We will continue to work on your (ping concept) along with the other exercises, still maintaining consistency and calmness.
Slowly but surely all the cards will fall into place. I am soo proud of my little horse who has come such a long way since I got her in Dec.
If you ever have another session count us in.
Cheers
